October 16th - Grandma Gatewood's Fall Color Hike - 1pm; Bring alonga cool drink and celebrate the season's colors. Meet the naturalist at the Old Man's CaveVisitorCenter for a strenuous hike that spans roughly 6 miles of the Grandma Gatewood Trail. We will be traversing the section that runs from Old Man's Cave to Cedar Falls and back while enjoying the scenic beauty and cultural personality along the way. This hike does include several hills and steps and is not recommended for the easily winded individual. The hike lasts 3 to 4 hours. Call 740-385-6841 for more info; FREE

October 16th - Halloween on the Hocking- 7pm; Corn mazes can be scary and haunted houses can be terrifying, but nothing compares to the thrill of Halloween on the HockingRiver! On this haunted night, we canoe a five-mile stretch in the creepiness of dusk... Stay close together since we do not know who may be lurking around the river bend. Bonfire and live entertainment will be offered for those lucky enough to make it back from the canoe trip. Costumes are recommended since we will also have a costume contest. Join the naturalist and the "HHIT" team at the Ash Cave parking area to explore the possibilities; Saturday 11am to noon; Pumpkin decorating at the Old Man's Cave picnic shelter for children 12 and under (adult supervision is required); 1pm to 4pm; Hayrides through the campground - meet at the showerhouse.
